Rice-Scott County BPOU Endorses Nominees

Otto Luknic was again nominated in 26B to oppose Rep. Fritz. Nominated unanimously at South Central College on Saturday February 23, 2008. Lynda Boudreau led the nomination while Vice Chair Jason Hoffman of Faribault presided.

Mayor Tim Rud of Lonsdale was nominated in 25B on Tuesday February 26th to oppose Rep. Bly. In an exciting contest with Kevin Budig of Northfield, finally on the third ballot Tim Rud surpassed the required 60 votes and then was nominated unanimously. Ray Cox presided over nearly two hours of spirited Republican debate.

Next Convention

The Rice-Scott County BPOU convention will be held Saturday March 8th at the Met-Con Construction Offices:
From the Trucker’s Inn, go east on 30th Street, turn left on Park Avenue and follow it north to Acorn, and continue north to Met-Con at 15760 Acorn Trail, Faribault. That is not too far north of the new Power Plant. Direct any questions to Kathy Dodds, (507) 334-5390 or <doddsfarm@yahoo.com>.
Registration extends from 8:30 until 9:30 am and should finish before noon. Besides passing on all of the resolutions from the precinct caucuses in the BPOU, the convention will elect 26 delegates and up to 52 alternates who will go on to the 2nd Congressional District Convention in Northfield at the end of March and the Republican Party of Minnesota state convention in Rochester in May.

The next executive committee meeting of the BPOU will be held March 11 (Tuesday) at 7 PM at the Pinecone Rastaurant in Faribault.
