An old military saying is
A nation that refers to itself as the “Peoples Republic of …” or “… Democratic Republic” invariably is not what their name says … the Peoples Republic is certainly not in favor of the power of the people and is certainly not a republic, and the Democratic Republic was certainly neither democratic nor a republic.
Doug Jones notices the same thing, deceptive labeling, in Bly’s People’s Bailout (as fauned over at an inauspicious site, the Marxist-Leninist).
The whirlwind of the economic storm seems to keep increasing in speed! So what is to be done?
Rep. David Bly of Northfield has a new suggestion. He is co-sponsoring legislation that he calls the “People’s Bailout.” It would extend the current five-year limit on receiving welfare and unemployment compensation.

These are critical times.
Too many are out of work. Too many have lost their homes to foreclosures. The credit flow from banks has dwindled to a trickle — and, although not impossible, it is hard to get a loan to buy a house or a car, or to expand your business and, thus, provide jobs.
Too many manufacturing and engineering jobs have gone off-shore. And, although we are experiencing uncertain weather and environmental factors, and although international politics is unstable, much good agricultural land has been annexed to build homes and shopping malls that we don’t need. Families are strapped financially — after they pay for their mortgage, their vehicle, food, clothing, health care, education, energy, taxes, and insurance they have little money left over to do with it what they please.
