Flash update: Prairie Grassroots – sowing the seeds of change – Sunday 18 Oct 2009

Sunday October 18th from 1-5 PM  at the Eagles Club in Faribault (2027 Grant St NW), selected Republican candidates for governor will be speaking and answering questions. Also,  potential Republican candidates for House and Senate legislative seats in Rice County will be there. The master of ceremonies will be Tony Sutton, chair of the Republican Party of Minnesota. Special guest will be Senator Dick Day.

BREAKING NEWS! Congressman John Kline will also be attending.  We have asked him to  bring a “Silent Auction” item, a photo of him with President Reagan, taken when he was the President’s Aide.  He will arrive shortly after 1PM, and will be introduced at about 1:40PM.  Tell all your friends and neighbors.  Spread the word by e-mail, phone, carrier pigeon, conversation at the restaurant, church, the fitness Center, or wherever you may hang out.

With Governor Pawlenty moving on to higher things, who becomes the next governor will make a huge difference in everyone’s life in Minnesota. Will it be the runaway DFL agenda pouring our tax money into the Twin Cities, and no restraint on the whole DFL social agenda? Or will there continue to be a balance in government and cautious change? At the recent Republican state convention straw poll, delegates favored Representatives Marty Seiffert, Tom Emmers and former state auditor Pat Anderson in a field of nine. We expect to see seven of the nine: Rep. Tom Emmer, Rep. Marty Seifert, Sen. David Hann, Former Rep. Bill Haas, Leslie Davis, Phil Herwig, and Sen. Mike Jungbauer, all of whom will all speak and answer questions at this event.

We have other choices in front of us as well. Come meet the seven local candidates vying for the support of the Republicans as they prepare to challenge the DFL state representatives and state senator in our area. Listen to their principles and formulate your opinion on whom to support.
